Trēowen bench
Trēowen bench
Is it a table? Is it a bench? This versatile piece would function equally well as either.
The top is made of a striking slab of spalted and flamed beech from Nunhead Cemetery in south London, carefully stitched with walnut butterfly inlays to check some end-grain splits. The legs and stretchers, turned on a traditional foot-operated treadle lathe, are finished with burnished black-on-red milk paint.
Approx, 850mm long, 450mm wide and 450mm high.
